House Of Vibe : Wed Night Leo Party TONIGHT!!

The House Of Vibe AllStars is a collective of players, singers and rappers who get together every Wednesday night to stir souls and kick out the jams. Not all at once of course, but a night with HOVAS is like a cool party. It starts mellow but ends up a full-out bash. You never know who's gonna drop by!!

It's funk, it's hip-hop, it's soul and r&b. There's nothing like it anywhere else. Every Wednesday, Brew and the crew get down like it's the last day on earth.
Like it's 1999.
It must be experienced to be understood.
A HOVAS show is like surfing a giant wave on an inflatable ass. It's like getting yelled at for playing your drums too loud - and not caring. It's like winning at chess and selling the most candy bars. It's impossible not to have a memorable time.

The Return of Cecilia Noel And The Wild Clams

Tonight I am in awe at the spectacle that is going down here at Harvelle's. The always fabulous Cecilia Noel has returned with her Wild Clams backing her up.
It's practically a Vegas style show, what with the large band - at least 10 pieces - crammed into the intimate atmosphere here.


The blend of Latin funk, jazz and r&b with Cecilia's sexy soulful vocals swooping above the sonic feel-good, south-of-border band. These hard hitting dudes came fierce with incredible horns, percussion and the 4 women backing up Ms. Noel.

As well it's Cecilia's bday, so the joint is particularly jumping.

Approaching the low end of high decibals, this place is ground zero for partying on this balmy Thursday night on the left coast.

A Gozár! : The Cecilia Noel Experience

Understand this : Cecilia is a superstar.

Cecilia Noel's Harvelle's performance last night was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Cecilia and her Wild Clams went through 2 super-tight non-stop sets of over-the-top energetic latin-funk. She did her thing and left me sweaty and exhausted and wanting more. The ultra feminine, hyper-sexy Cecilia spun my head around and got my nose wide open. A extra-special shout out to Wild Clam singer/dancer Ijeoma Njaka, (2nd from right above) a regular 'round Harvelle's, often sitting in with House Of Vibe All Stars. You were awesome!

Harvelle's Thursday : Cecilia Noel

If you come to Harvelle's on Thursday night (tonight) you'll be in for a treat. The great Cecilia Noel will be entertaining with her singing, dancing and electrifying of the audience to the point of exhaustion. You can lose it on the dance floor or you can come, chill out and enjoy the show while you imbibe in the dark speakeasy atmosphere of the best blues night club in L.A. (on 4th St. @Broadway in Santa Monica).

House Of Vibe : Tuna Melt

Chali 2na (below) gave us a party we won't soon forget Wednesday night at Harvelle's! The night's theme was 'sweat', and that we did, as the non-stop dance floor remained packed and kinetic.

House Of Vibe took their playing to an inspirational new level, as the musicians - Greg Raymond (keys), Pete Antunes (drums), Kris Hawkins (guitar), Corey Cofield (bass), Anthony Brewster (keys and vocals), Sebastian Legar (trumpet) Shaunte Palmer (trombone), Dan Boissy(sax)and Amy Lou (percussion) - jammed furiously, stunning and moving all at once. Westside Tribe members Deploi, Jon Swift and Tony Tarasco, took the stage like they were doing battle. And winning.

The party's highlight was Chali and his brother Laid Law (above). The H.O.V. backed hour-long set of new songs and classic Jurassic 5 (Chali's rap group) had the crowd singing along, waving their arms in the air and thrilled with the awesome 'robot dance' (below) he and Laid Law perpetrated.
