That's what it looked like to me as The House Of Vibe All Stars played a rare Thursday night spot right here. In lieu of Deploi who - SPOILER ALERT - apparently is on secret government mission to save the planet - there were several others including the perennial Jon Swift, the luminous FreeWill and ill-luminous Ijeoma Njaka to stand in, stand up and get loose.

House Of Vibe All Stars dominate the stage every Wednesday at Harvelle's here in Santa Monica, so it was a surprise to see the reggae band Divine Crime (led by Miss Amee Jana) set it off this past Wednesday.

House Of Vibe/Westside Tribe member John Piazza followed with a set of his super smooth r&b. John served double duty, filling in for some of the members of HOV who are currently on tour in Europe with Chali 2na.

The incredible collaboration known as House Of Vibe All Stars is on tonight (as they are every Wednesday) at Harvelle's. You never know who might show up and sit in with Brew and the All Star crew, but tonight Chali 2na of Jurasic 5 will be what's good.

Special shout-out to Deploi and Jon Swift of the Westside Tribe, these hip-hop heads are stone cold rhymin' - you gotta hear these cats spit.

Wednesday house band - the House Of Vibe All Stars - shake it to it's core with their funky jazzy soulful reggae-ish approach to doing it live. Westside Tribe rappers kill it on the mic and special guests from Cecilia Noel to Tweet (Next) are often in the house and up on the stage. 

Returning to the Harvelle's stage, Audible Mainframe tears it up and puts it back together again... and do it the way THEY want.

Wednesday's House Of Vibe had a unique vibe of it's own. Brew with M.V.P. Derek on bass, guitarist Kris moved with awesome guitar leads, Pete completely tore it up on the skins, Greg on keys -solid and soulful, DJ spinning the wax while Deploi hip-hopped it up and around. Mike on xylophone kept it fresh and funky!!! Big-ups to Brew and the rest of the mighty all-stars for an awesome evening!!

Not just the funky, but the reggae, the jazz, the rock and soul are interpreted by the Westside's favorite rhythm and blues crew. That is the House Of Vibe All-Stars. That's every Wednesday night. If you haven't seen 'em, this crew lay it deep in the pocket all night long (or at least until last call). 

The sparkling SaMo crowd is all about the music and down to party mid-week with the All-Stars and their humble leader Anthony Brewster (aka Brew).

The HOV Allstars party wouldn't be complete without the Westside Tribe's Deploi and John Swift.

Awesome musicians and singers are always sitting in. Brew invited these baadasss funkateers  Valerie (dr), Bana(bs) (left) and Amy Lou (above) on congas and percussion a couple of weeks back. They blew minds and turned it out.

Call it Vibe, House Of Vibe.

But we've put Obama in the White House and it's time to deal with reality.

Funky Friday! : House Of Vibe All Stars!

It's gonna be a funky friday, as House Of Vibe All Stars return to Harvelle's! It's a birthday bash for Deploi from the Westside Tribe (aka Joey), and Lady J. (aka Jamie). 

Celebrating in their own funk-torious style, H.O.V. always deliver their incredible mix of soul drenched jazz, rap, rock and reggae. Channeling Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin and Herbie Hancock while mixing it up with their own style, the players always deliver. 

Watch out for the horn section. 

These mighty warriors of the brass will blow down the doors, as Brew and the crew bum rush in time to funk things up! Always a good time!

House Of Vibe All Stars : Rachel Lynn's Birthday Party!

The Wednesday night House Of Vibe session will kick off with an acoustic set by birthday girl Rachel Lynn!

Come celebrate! It's a party! Vocalist/songwriter Rachel Lynn's birthday bash will be a great time. Last year R.L.'s b-day party packed the club, so get there early. The House Of Vibe All Stars will be tearing the place apart with funk, jazz, hip-hop, reggae and rock (check their version of Led Zep's No Quarter!) to keep the party alive and jumping. Piss off your co-workers by coming into work hung-over with a club-stamp still on your wrist! You can nap in your car during lunch! It'll be worth it!
