House Of Vibe : Players For Life

It's the Wednesday night jam at Harvelle's, known as the House Of Vibe All-Stars!

I got here late last week, but in enough time to hear their rendition of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon. Anthony Brewster... he's the guy that puts this night together, leads the band and sings. His soulful tenor lures the folks on to the dancefloor everytime. He also plays the keys and introduces the night with the soliloquy from Funkadelic's Maggot Brain

Check in. Tune out. Listen up!

Bongo Fury : Warning!!

On stage tonight, the Bongo Fury show, opens it's curtains and let's Miss Dakota out of the Red Room to destroy men's souls with her dance of beauty and feminine essence.

Once you have seen Miss Dakota dance her dance, you will never be the same. The most intense and exotic of Bongo Fury's many gorgeous seductive dancers, Dakota will tattoo your soul and haunt your dreams. Can your heart stand it? Proceed at your own risk.

For you music lovers, check out the band, as the incomparable Walter Davis runs things, and shake your own groove thang to the acid jazz, balearic beats, new wave and vintage funk spun on wax by DJ Daylight. Special guests seem to always drop by. Holding it down: Asa - drums, Bjorn - bass, Victor - congas/bongos and Walter on sax.

Dennis and band (New Orleanian Michael Turner on drums and NYC's funkiest - Sam Correa on bass) kept the crowd in a state of frenzy doing everything from ZZ Top, Meters, Hendrix and some rockin' originals! Get My Baby Right, indeed!?!? Keep low music fans!!! Watch out for Dennis Jones!
